Promoters of the Formula One Grand Prix™ street circuit at the Green Point Sport Tourism Precinct in Cape Town, South Africa

Established in 2007, Cape Town Grand Prix SA (Pty) Ltd (CTGPSA) is a black-owned promoter dedicated to bringing the Formula One Grand Prix™ to a street circuit in the Green Point Sport Tourism Precinct in Cape Town, South Africa. Unlike other major sporting events that occur every five years or even once in a lifetime, F1™ delivers an annual economic boost and social upliftment. Pre- and post-event activities present significant opportunities for sustainable job creation and community development.

The event is strategically designed to benefit government, local businesses, and communities by driving tourism growth, creating business opportunities, and revitalising the motorsport sector, all while generating significant media impact. It also serves as a platform for skills transfer and development programmes.

Launched publicly in January 2011, our bid for a street race is the longest-standing bid, thanks to its economic viability and unrivalled location.
